emerald + ella

Recently I came across a beautiful online store emerald + ella selling gorgeous items for the home as well as offering vintage props for stylist hire. Owned by former food stylist Jane Collings, the website is a pleasure to browse through from the gorgeous emerald + ella branding to all the beautiful items and images of the products which of course have been beautifully styled. Small things like the black and white twine tied on the wooden cutlery make me smile. I would love to do a styled shoot one day with Jane's beautiful trinkets.

Nude

I've always been attracted to soft, nude coloured clothing, so much that even my aunties complain that I always wear the same sort of colours. So I'm glad this season the nude colours are in!

Sunset

Playing again with my new Canon 85mm f1.8 at sunset. Have a great weekend, I hope I can do some shooting between all my assessments.

Letterpress Business Cards

A dream of mine one day would be to have some letterpress business cards of my own - I love that deep letterpress impression on thick textured paper stock. the luxurious feel it gives. Here are some prints by Studio Z Mendocino. Loving the colours of them!

Canon 85mm f/1.8

Loving it so far, can't wait to test it out for portraits though as well as the Canon 50mm 1.4. Now that I have 2 new lenses, I need a photography bag so I can go shooting with my all my lens by my side. I'm eyeing the Shootsac which is expensive but will be so handy for shooting, or a more durable Crumpler bag.

New Canon lens

I just purchased new lens, the 50mm f1.4 and Canon 85mm f1.8. I have so many assessments to do at the moment so I don't have time to really go out and explore with the camera (plus I don't drive - yes I really should get my act together), so I just played in my backyard today where I found a beautiful tree which I didn't even know we had!

On a photography technical note, I have noticed a purple outline on a lot of the photos taken with the 85mm which these were taken with. I have googled this and it seems its not only me - I guess I'll keep investigating this. Can't wait to play more with this lens.
